Cervid-Online is an online journal dedicated to the world's Deer. It was created in response to a lack of access to scientific information relating to deer, which are almost universally recognised yet generally little understood. Hours of watching wild deer inspired countless questions in my mind relating to their behaviour, which set me on a quest for knowledge. Unfortunately, little has been published relating to many species in media accessible to common deer folk - entire species lack even a basic book, and the internet is too often a source of misinformed opinions presented as facts. Fortunately, the answers I sought were available in the form of scientific literature, but with the barriers of being both difficult to obtain and often even harder to interpret. There was a clear need for scientific information on deer to be made available to a wider audience of 'deer lovers' - people like me, who crave a deeper understanding of these animals. Cervid-Online is the solution to this need.

The articles are released free of charge, to help as many people as possible to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of deer. All secondary-sources utilised are appropriately referenced, affording you confidence in the integrity of the information presented, and to establish a starting point for further research.

The success and future role Cervid-Online plays in the deer world is dependent on your support. At this point, no advertising is being utilised and articles are free to access (as knowledge should be), so financial support is profoundly appreciated. All money generated from donations will be used to purchase more secondary-sources, to further improve the quality of content available. Please consider investing in the future of Cervid-Online and the public's interest in world's deer by making a donation.

Finally, feedback is appreciated - please make contact with any content suggestions, offers for contribution or constructive criticism. Thank you greatly for your support of Cervid-Online.
